This video was going to be a no blow demo, while opening up a 4" hole on the bottom of a 2 liter flask, with the goal, to show a nice finished fire cut hole at the end, by using the same size tubing to pull the hole. Didn't quite go the way I wanted it to (in regards to the demo), had to do some things on the fly. It went well, and the seal came out nice! Sometimes you just have to go with it a...

Is that masking tape to hold the joint in the holder? Good idea as those things like to slip sometimes on the firecut.

Oh man, that’s some good work. I’ve always been interested in fabricating glass parts like this, but the overhead in tooling is a killer. You are a professional. No wonder these things are so bloody expensive. Los Alamos National Labs has a 3D glass printing program for making beakers and flasks just because they are so costly to make. My only gripe is that you didn’t show how it works. Thanks

if you paid $400 for that slide you got ripped off. Those slides cost about $30-40. You can build one yourself for less than $20 if you buy a piece of threaded rod ($3-4), a 4 foot section of 2x1in aluminum ($<15) and some skateboard bearings ($2-3).

Hey, Kevin!! Who is that masked man!! LOL! Nice work, buddy! I've gone to not using that marking pen when making stuff. Instead, I use a rod with a point to scratch the glass. The mark is visible and goes away when heated. Works well for me.

One of the things most often learned the hard way is that, unless it's actually glowing, hot glass looks exactly like cool glass -- so be careful where you grab it. Nice work -- you make it look easy.
